Animal welfare

In order to be responsible to our customers and the environment, as set out in our Corporate Governance Principles, we insist on adhering to and monitoring ethical animal husbandry and welfare standards in relation to the production of poultry as well as other animal and non-food based products. Our Animal Welfare Policy serves as a guide for both our business partners and us in implementing sustainable practices in the procurement of animal products and raw materials.

Sustainability

We have always been a champion of sustainable business practices. In order to assume responsibility towards our customers and the environment, as stipulated in our Values and Actions - (New German: Corporate Governance) Policy, we insist on compliance with and monitoring of sustainable products and production standards in relation to our core business. Our Sustainability Policy serves both our business partners and us as a guide for implementing sustainable practices in the design of products, production processes and complete supply chains.

Quality

We love our products. We maintain the Hanseatic and traditional approach to produce our handmade products in the best way known in our industry. We are innovative in how we work in the market and drive change in our industry. We want that love for our products and innovation to come through in everything we do. We look forward to the opportunity to work with our customers: We work with our customers on marketable terms. We provide service in a personal, old-fashioned way that Hanseatic dealers have always done - and this guarantees you a perfect product every time and lets you get the best night's rest. Every night.

Finance

We see ourselves as local citizens and compliance with rules and regulations through financial means is part of who we are. We pay our taxes locally where we do business. We pay all local licenses and fees required to do business locally. We do not transfer funds through licenses (or other means and constructions) to avoid local taxes or fees. We do not knowingly work with companies that appear to violate any of these policies, including our financial governance. We do our own thorough accounting. We hire outside auditors to review our results. In addition, supervised certified auditors engage our accounting staff and confirm compliance of our financial statements with local requirements and our own highest standards.

Chemistry

We do not contract third parties to use products or raw materials manufactured with hazardous chemicals or potentially hazardous chemicals instead of us. In order to assume responsibility towards our customers and the environment in accordance with our Corporate Governance Principles, we insist on compliance with and monitoring of chemical-free products and production standards in relation to our core business. Our Chemicals Policy serves as a guideline for both our business partners and us in implementing sustainable practices to design chemical-free products, production processes and complete supply chains. For each new product or raw material we purchase or partnership we are involved in, a member of management must confirm in writing that compliance with this policy has been documented and met.

Social

We hold ourselves to the highest social standards at our facilities around the world and ensure that our partners do the same. We have therefore joined the Business Social Compliance Initiative and all our facilities and sites are independently audited to meet a fair code of conduct. Ironically, this commitment has not come at the expense of price. We have found that a more stable and engaged workforce promotes our quality and assures you of a sustainable product and production.
